Youth Demand the Handing Over of a Priest „to be Burnt“ at Catholic School in Merida, Spain

December 2012: During the morning of the 17th of December ten youths between the ages of 15 and 17 entered the Salesian School ‘Maria Auxiliadora’ in the outskirts of Merida, Spain. After assaulting the groundskeeper who had tried to stop their entrance, they made their way to the classrooms demanding the priests be handed over to be burnt and accusing the teachers of fascism. Christian Bed & Breakfast Owners Report Torrent of Hateful Messages in the United Kingdom

September 2012: The Christian owners of a bed and breakfast in Britain, Mike and Susanne Wilkinson, have received countless hate-filled messages in the wake of refusing to give a homosexual couple a double room.

Mike and Susanne Wilkinson say “hundreds of emails an hour” came in from around the world, as well as phone calls and texts – some which were “very sexually explicit”. August 2012: On 22nd August 2012 unknown perpetrators desecrated a chapel of Saint Anthony in Naklo, Slovenia. February 2013: Unknown perpetrators sprayed on a wall of a shopping center on one of the thoroughfares in Ljubljana on 1 February 2013 a graffiti threatening Christians with violence. “Kristjani – klali smo vas 1945 – klali vas bomo 2013” – “Christians – we slaughtered you in 1945 – we shall slaughter you in 2013”, was sprayed in large letters on a wall. Media Analyst Explains Anti-Christian Sentiments of the Media

February 2013: German Author and media analyst Norbert Bolz explains to the German Catholic Press Agency (KNA) why the media often has an anti-clerical attitude and how he suggests to react to this.

 

KNA (Catholic Press Agency): Is there something like an anticlerical attitude in the media? Bolz: This is a very old phenomenon. Journalists define themselves as enlighteners. And the Catholic Church has been regarded as the embodiment of the anti-enlightenment powers since the 18th century. And every time the Church has spoken up against mainstream culture and insisted on outmoded ideas, this effect is mobilised again. There have been two groups during the last months upon which one has declared open season: the Catholic Church and the Liberals (FDP). By now there are no taboos left. Read more…
