Don’t forget, Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl was NOT captured on the battlefield.
He left the U.S. base camp in Afghanistan in 2009 of his own free will and turned up with the Taliban a short time later.

Obama: 5 Taliban will go to Qatar. ‘The Qatari govt has given us assurances it will put in place measures to protect our national security.’

So, we’re negotiating with terrorists AND relying on Qutar for our security? I feel SO safe…@ByronYork

This is from the the (Muslim?) father of the Army deserter Bowe Bergdahl:
The father (photo below) sounds like a Muslim in a video he made to the Taliban:
UK Daily Mail Robert Bergdahl has posted the humble and respectful three-minute appeal on YouTube in the hope that ‘this video may be played to our only son’. ‘I address the Pakistani armed forces. Our family is counting on your professional integrity and honour to secure the safe return of our son. And we thank you.
‘Our family knows the high price that has been paid by your men in the army and the frontier corp. We give our condolences and thanks to the families of those who have fallen for Pakistan. ‘Strangely to some, we must also thank those who have cared for our son for almost two years … and others who have played a role in sheltering the American prisoner. We know our son is a prisoner and at the same time a guest in your home.’
Mr Bergdahl continues: We understand the rationale the Islamic Emirate has made through its video. No family in the United States understands the detainee issue like ours. ‘Our son’s safe return will only heighten public awareness of this. That said, our son is being exploited. It’s past time for Bowe, and the others, to come home. ‘To the nation of Pakistan our family would wish to convey our compassionate respect.
At times Mr Bergdahl speaks in a language used in northern Pakistan and Afghanistan, in a great effort to engage with the Taliban offshoot forces. The prospect of his son – who has converted to Islam and adopted the Muslim name Abdullah, according to his captors – being freed has not been helped by an aggressive campaign by U.S. and allied forces against the Haqqani network in recent months.
